Clement Alvin Miller was born on September 22, 1946 to Egerton O. Miller and Naomi A. Miller (nee Greaves) in the Panama Canal Zone. The youngest of three children, he is survived by is brother David and was predeceased by his eldest brother Hubert. Having emigrated to Brooklyn, NY in 1956 at the age of 10, Clem (as he was affectionately known) quickly and passionately took advantage of all the opportunities the Untied States had to offer.
Educated in the New York City public school system and influenced by his older brothers, Clem placed high and exacting value on scholarship. After graduating from New York University, Clem began a data processing career that spanned close to 50 years. While he worked for many noteworthy companies, Clem would spend 32 years with Black Knight Inc. from which he would retire in 2016.
Like most committed professionals Clem enjoyed many hobbies, but none more than photography. As a result of his passion for photography, some of his children and grandchildren have pursued the interest as well. Clem was taken with aviation and travel both domestically and internationally. Growing up in New York, jazz would infect Clem’s heart and soul and would become an endearing part of his life.
Clem is survived by his loving and devoted wife Rose of over 40 years. He is also survived by sons Chris Miller (wife Mandisa), Alonzo Austin Jr., Kevin Miller (wife Charnie) and Andrew Miller (wife Allison). He also took much pride in and offered much support to his grandchildren: Ashley, Alonzo, Ayden, Ashton, Alec, Jaheim, Alexander, Sophia, Joseph, Giovanni and Ravenna.
In the early 80’s Clem dedicated his life to Christ. Never preachy or pushy with his beliefs, Clem found favor with believer and nonbeliever alike. While not a boisterous person, his humble spirit and reserved manner were felt wherever he set his foot.
Clem may no longer be with us in the flesh, but his spirit will continue to resonate with his family and those impacted by his life.
