

Connie E. Monroe, 85, of Jacksonville, passed away on November 11, 2011. Born in Hasty, NC to the late Peter Evans and Olga Faulk Monroe, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Connie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office after 34 years of service. He was a small business owner to include catering, construction, dog grooming and tool repair. He was a member of Morocco Temple Shrine-Motorcycle Escort, a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Fraternal order of Police.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Evelyn G. Monroe; children, Constance Lynn Monroe, Michael Evans Monroe (Terry) and Sandy Monroe Smith (Bobby); sister, Eunice Gardner; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 16th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin with Pastor David L. Peacock as Officiant.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s name to Community Hospice of NE FL.
