Constance Newlon Cason

Constance “Connie” N. Cason, 95, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on March 31, 2018 at Westminster Woods of Julington Creek in St. Johns County, Florida. She was born in West Palm Beach, Florida to W.O. Newlon and Stella Newlon on October 5th1922. Connie graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1940. She graduated from Florida Southern College in 1944; she also pursued her Graduate studies at The University of Florida, Florida State University, Jacksonville University and The University of North Florida. She worked in the educational field for 36 years and was the president of the Duval Teachers Association. She provided major leadership to bring about significant change for education in Duval County. Connie Cason married Andrew E. Cason Jr. in June of 1947. She is preceded in death by Andrew E. Cason Jr. of Jacksonville and Bruce A. Cason (Gayle Cason) of Arizona. Connie is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Kristina M. Ball (David Ball) of Jacksonville, Bruce A. Cason Jr. and Mikal A. Cason of Arizona. Her beloved Great-Grandchildren Jacob M. Ball of Jacksonville, and Kayle A. Cason of Arizona. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at 11:00 am in Westminster Woods of Julington Creek 25 SR 13 Saint Johns, FL 32259. A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Westminster Woods Benevolent Fund or Community First Cares Foundation. Connie was a great lady, an excellent teacher, and outstanding co worker. I enjoyed the years that we spent at Ed White High School together.
