

Connie relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida were she met and married Mick G. Long of St. Louis, Missouri. The couple moved to Sunrise, Florida, where they raised their two daughters.
In Sunrise, Connie began her career as a cashier for Grand Union. She successfully rose to dairy manager where she was responsible for opening new super stores called Basics.
Due to health issues Connie left Basics and joined Landmark Bank as a new accounts representative.
Connie had a flair for design so upon Mick's retirement from Florida Power and Light they relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida where they started a traveling craft business called Connie's Corner.
While living in Kings Isle Connie became president of her Canasta club.
Connie enjoyed Canasta, Bingo, and Majong and was very active in her community.
In 2010, Mick and Connie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, which they were proudly honored by the President of the United States. Unfortunately, Mick passed away November 16, 2012 and Connie relocated to Jacksonville to be closer to family.
During the next ten years Connie was active at the Mandarin Senior Center as a volunteer serving meals and planning activities. Connie was a member of the Knit Wits knitting club where she made beanies for newborn babies, homeless families, and blankets for military members. She proudly received a special accomodation by the Navy for her volunteer service.
Connie was a passionate fan of both the Green Bay Packers and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Connie is survived by her siblings Lucille Monaco, Anne Marie Segalini, predeceased Raymond DeStefano, and Janet Renaldo; many nieces and nephews; daughters Sandra Pagliughi, Barbara Ruehl and her husband, Keith Ruehl; four grandchildren Jacquelyn Heflin and her husband, George Willie Heflin, predeceased by Anna Pagliughi, Alexander Ruehl and his wife Clementa Ruehl, Katarina Perrine and her husband Lucas Perrine; and by four great-granddaughters Isabella Grace Whitney, Alexia London Heflin, Riley Pagliughi and Paisley Pagliughi; and the much anticipated baby boy Perrine.
A celebration of life will be held January 28, 2023 at the Moorings Clubhouse, 14750 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida at 1 p.m. Those who wish to remember Connie in a special way can make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
