Cora Dean Cagle

Cora Dean Cagle (November 6, 1935 - July 23, 2024) went to be with The Lord on July 23rd, 2024 - She was predeceased by her parents, John Jenkins Stewart and Mamie Stewart, as well as a sister Polly Glisson. (Raymond) She is survived by her Husband of 68 years, Al Cagle, her sons David Cagle, Darren Cagle (Susan) and Grandchildren Lisa Helmers (Austin), Carley Carrol (Adam), Lauren Sleight (AJ), Olivia Gesner (Noah), Nicholas Kent, Ricky Kent (Nicole), as well as her great grandchildren Avis, Mila, Neli, Scarlett, Ava, Micah and Marshall. Sisters Lenora Stewart, Teresa Stewart (John), Jay Stewart, and brothers Tom Stewart (Donna), and CM Stewart.

Dean was born in Steinhatchee FL. She had many fond memories of her youth in the small fishing village on Florida's Nature Coast. She graduated from Dixie County High School in Cross City FL and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1954.

In 1956 she married Alton Cagle. They supported each other through life and Al's time in the Army stationed in Germany and the birth of 2 sons.

Dean worked at Several jobs throughout her life including Gulf Life Insurance company, WJXT Channel 4, Hope Haven Children's Hospital and Waste Management where she worked for many years.

Dean loved The Lord, and she loved parenting and grandparenting. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother and she dearly loved (and spoiled) her grandchildren. She cherished spending time with family and will be deeply missed.

Her Memorial Service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd

Jacksonville FL on July 30th, 2024, at 1 PM and officiated by Minister Noah Gesner. The family will be accepting friends at 12:00 PM and a reception with family and friends will follow after the service.
