

Coralie (Carol) A. Klaase, 86, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2012 at Emeritus at Mandarin in Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodous (Ted) Klaase. Her descendents include two children, Peter, (Matha) and Paul, (Patricia); four grandchildren, Raymond (Alice), Theo and Terra Klaase of Jacksonville, Tennaya Volkov (Sergey) of Virginia; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Alex, Lori, Leo, Ella, Saga, Peter and Katie. Carol was born April 2, 1925 in Melksham, a small town in Wiltshire, England, not very far from Stonehenge. Carol moved to Montreal where she lived for eleven years. She transferred to New York City with her husband Ted and his employer, where she worked as an Executive Secretary to the VP of the largest construction firm in the world, and later settled in Jacksonville to join her sons and family during retirement. She served as a member of St. Joseph’s Mandarin Food Bank and as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
The family would like to thank the staff at Emeritus at Mandarin for the wonderful and loving care they showed to my Mom and our family. A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
