Corene Matheny Usher

Corene, born on April 8, 1944, went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2024, at the age of 80. A beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion.

Throughout her life, Corene exemplified the virtues of a Christian woman. She was a pillar of strength and grace, always ready to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a kind word. Her faith in God was unshakeable, and it was the foundation upon which she built her life.

She was a devoted wife, sharing many beautiful years with her beloved husband, who preceded her in death. As a mother, she raised her daughter, Sherri, and son Tim. with unwavering love and care, instilling in them the values of kindness, compassion, and faith. Corene now rejoins Tim in the arms of the Lord.

Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to Ashlie and Allen, and a great-grandmother to Isaac Rey. Corene cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, and her love for them knew no bounds. She was their greatest supporter, always present for every milestone, big or small.

In addition to her immediate family, Corene is survived by many other close family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Her life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and love, and she leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Corey-Kerlin on Cesery Blvd. on August 15 at 11:00 A.M., where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Savior.

Rest in peace, Corene. You will be forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
