

Cristina San Gabriel Soson peacefully departed on March 20, 2024, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on October 27, 1948, to Pablo and Rolanda San Gabriel in Bocaue, Philippines. She attended Saint Paul College for high school and attended University of the East Philippines where she received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1970. In 1972 she migrated to Polk, Louisiana, USA to work as a Registered Nurse. Soon after she met her husband, Larito Soson; they married on April 19, 1973.
Cristina and Larito were blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. They moved around the US and resided in Louisiana, Colorado, South Carolina, Washington, California, and Florida. Tacoma, Washington is where they rooted their family and where they met their longtime friends.
She worked at Madigan Hospital for most of her career as a Registered Nurse. She dedicated 40 plus years in the health industry and happily retired in 2012. Cristina was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her door was always open to everyone, and you could bet there would be delicious food prepared ready to eat. She enjoyed baking, singing karaoke, hosting and gathering with friends, and playing her favorite mahjong game. She adored and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite things to do with her family were traveling, camping, and going for long drives.
Cristina was preceded in death by her son Edward Soson, parents Pablo and Rolanda San Gabriel, brothers Ramon and Tony San Gabriel.
Cristina is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larito Soson of St. Augustine, Florida, daughter Michelle and Steve Akana of Orlando Florida, son Larito Jr. and Mylene Soson of Mansfield, Texas, grandchildren Casandra, Christina, Darin, Keanu, and Micah. She is also survived by her brothers Henry and Nelly San Garbriel of Upper Malboro, Maryland, Titong and Grace San Gabriel of Bowie, Maryland, Boogie and Charito San Gabriel of Bocaue, Philippines as well as several nieces and nephews.
Burial service will be conducted on April 5, 2024, at 10 am at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
