Our son, Chris, played baseball for Curtis on the Orioles team back in the 70s. He was a great coach and more important, a good man, who made a difference in the lives of everyone around him. He genuinely loved all the boys he coached. He will be missed.  Harry and Debbye Roberts Middleburg FL

I worked with Curtis at Prudential many years ago. He always seemed to make each day a little more bearable.   I am sad to hear of his passing.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My condolences go out to the MacDowell Family. I ran around with Curtis at TP and never really "Thanked" him for letting us keep Englewood's ram at his home. Boys being Boys...Curtis was able to maintain the spirit of youth and realize the good in all.You taught so many how to have a good time and laugh at themselves.You will be sorely missed.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Curtis's passing. I began my 12 year friendship with Curtis through my volunteer work at the West Duval Youth Association. At that time I was a â€œnewbieâ€ to youth sports and Curtis's willingness to share his knowledge and expertise helped me to become an â€œold handâ€ in short order. His selflessness helped me to succeed and stick with my work at the ballpark and enriched my life and the lives my family, helping us to make many happy memories. The thoughts and prayers of the many people who knew Curtis at WDYA are with his family.

I never knew Curtis personelly, only knew him from phone conversations, and from my talking with his wife at the meetings he was always truthful helpful & concise after reading his "OBIT" in the paper I truly feel as though I lost a friend, God bless Curtis's spirit and his family. I was saddened to learn of your Dad's passing. Know that my thoughts & prayers are with you all during this time of loss. 
We lost Staci's Dad at the age of 56...much too young for such precious souls.

I must say I was taken aback when I saw the article in the Metro section yesterday.....  Haven't seen Curtis in many years now, due to geographics and work location. Curtis worked for me back in the mid-70's in the Pru home office. He was a real "character" for sure.  Had more jokes and stories than anyone else I ever knew over the years....  When I went to JU baseball games there he was, the "man in blue".  I'm sure he will be missed by all those who knew him, especially all his young athletes.... RIP Curtis, RIP...

Curtis's spirit will live on in the lives of the many children he touched through the years in his un-selfish devotion to youth sports in Jacksonville. May God grant peace to his soul, and comfort to all his family and many friends

I was very sorry to hear that Curtis passed away. I talked to him a week before he passed. I have known Curtis for 23 years and my prayers goes out to Annette and family.

Dear Curtis, you were one in million.  I had not seen you since Terry Parker days, but had thought of you many times.  A smile was always on my face as I remembered your "contributions" in class.  Rest in peace, my friend, rest in peace.

I have known Curtis and worked with Curtis for 14 years.  I remember when we first met.  He was a  person with so much magnetism and charisma that people were easily drawn to him.  He had a strong speaking voice and a hardy laugh!  Over these years, through thick and thin, we managed to work out any issues we may have had and always treated each other with the upmost respect.  He helped my wife Katie and I make enough money to pay for our wedding, over 12 years ago!  This meant so much to the both of us.

Curtis will be sorely missed in the NE Florida baseball and softball community.  You did your job with a sense of urgency and passion that many people could take note of and apply your standards to better their own situations.  Curtis, old buddy, I already miss you and I know that God chose you to be with Him.  Katie sends a big bowl of her home-made chicken soup to you.  I know you always told me that the soup was too good to share.  It's ok to share with others now...

God Bless you and let Him be with Annette, Stacey, Chris, and the entire family during these diffucult times.

It was always a pleasure to have Curtis here in our hotel for meetings with his softball organization.  Although it had been "awhile" since we had the chance to host him here at the property in person, we always were happy to provide his group with the means to have him participate on the phone.  He will certainly be missed.

What a guy!   Curtis always commanded attention wherever he was.   He would have the room in stitches with his humor.
Our family has lost a great guy. You are in a better place "Uncle Curtis".
