Dallas Powell Lee

Dallas is survived by his children, Matthew and Amanda Lee; his sister, Ruth Crawford (Lee); brother, Robert “Bob” Lee; and the mother of his children, Candace Lee (Gay). He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth; and his sister, Louise.

Dallas was born on June 23rd, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida to Robert and Ruth Lee (Morrow). He graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Economics. In 1988 he married Candace Gay. Over their 25 years of marriage, the couple welcomed their two children into their home. His children remember him as a driven and hardworking father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and education. For more than 30 years, Dallas worked for himself as a custom home builder and residential developer in Jacksonville. He was an avid golfer and could often be found on the fairway. When not working or golfing, Dallas enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Dallas will be remembered for his courage during bad health and difficult times. After a courageous and long battle with depression, the pain became unbearable and Dallas took his life. He is finally without pain and at rest.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
