It is with a heavy heart I announce the passing of my sweet and beautiful sister, Dana Sheryl Horadam. She passed away unexpectedly February 12, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida. Dana was born October 27, 1966 in Victoria Texas to Weldon and Everell Horadam. A couple of years later she was gifted me, a little sister. I was probably not the gift she wanted but God knew what he was doing bring us together. As sisters usually do, we drove each other crazy growing up. Mom and Dad always insisted she take her little sister with her everywhere, which drove Dana bananas. Dana was always so cool and I loved being around her. She had the ability to talk with anyone and was never short on conversation (I am the total opposite). Many times we would be out together and I would make her do all the talking!!
In 2015, after both of our parents had passed away, Dana came to stay with me and my husband. Ten years led with happiness, joy and adventure, but also cancer and chemo. It was such a pleasure and honor having her as my closest friend and our sense of humor borders on the dark and absurd most of the time. She was the best partner in crime!
Dana was a fantastic artist/crafter. She loved to experiment with anything she could find. Youtube kept her imagination full of ideas and possibilities.
I Love You, my sweet Dana!!
And when great souls die, after a period peace blooms, slowly and always irregularly. Spaces fill with a kind of soothing electric vibration. Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us.They existed. They existed. We can be. Be and be better. For they existed.
