David Dresden “Doc” Bennett Jr. MD, 90, long time resident of Jacksonville and Callahan, died Saturday, November 5th 2011. He is survived by his two sons, Steve and David D. III and their spouses, Daniel A. Connor, long time family friend, 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 3 great-granddaughters, 2 great great-grandsons and 1 great great-granddaughter.
As a family physician both while serving in the Navy and during his time in private practice, Dr. Bennett delivered more than 4,000 babies during his 50 year career. Musician, pilot and avid golfer, Dr. Bennett leaves a rich legacy and will be sorely missed by friends and family.
