David Reginald Foxall, age 76, passed away suddenly but peacefully on July 13th, 2018 in Jacksonville Florida. David was born in Birmingham, England on February 26, 1942, the son of John and Olive Foxall.
David spent his childhood years in Birmingham where he met the love of his life Suzanne Foxall in 1968. They were married on March 28th, 1969 at St Martin’s Church at the Bullring in Birmingham. Sadly, David lost his beautiful Suzanne on October 5th, 2017 after 48 years of marriage. He did not stop missing her for a minute since that day and his family and friends are comforted by the belief that the two of them are together again.
David was a passionate and dedicated Mechanical Engineer and spent the last 20 years of his career working for Stellar, the first 10 as a full time employee and the last 10 years as contractor after his retirement. There are not many people in this life who could truly say they loved their job and lived their passion, David would say both. Many of his colleagues were treasured friends and as David would say; his extended family. He and Suzanne loved living in Florida after spending nearly 25 years in Canada having immigrated there in 1974. They loved the beautiful nature of Florida, walks on the beach and restaurants by the water. He was an avid photographer, loved the Toronto Maple Leafs, old cars and animals. As an engineer David’s curiosity for how things worked was a driving force in his life.
David will be deeply missed by his daughter, Victoria Foxall Struwe and her husband, Diego Struwe; a man David considered not just his son-in-law but one of his best friends. There are many others who will never forget and stop loving David; his sister in law, Wendy Madigan; his lovely niece, Elizabeth Monaghan; his grandson, Jonathan Dockerill. The list could go on. David’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to his friend and colleague Jason Duff and the many other friends, neighbors and colleagues who spent his last remaining days and hours with him and have provided so much support during this difficult time. David had a long list of instructions for many of us. They will be carried out as promised.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate David’s life on Saturday, July 21st from 1 to 3 p.m. in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223.
