

Pastor Imhoff was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 1st, 1946. Son of Rev. Roger G. Imhoff, Sr., and Virginia Milner Imhoff. Brother to Rev. Roger G. Imhoff, Jr., Charles M. Imhoff, Stephen P. Imhoff, & Virginia I. Simpson.
David received his Masters of Divinity from the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago and his Honorary Doctorate from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. He attended University of Kentucky and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, where he met his wife of 52 years Jeanne. David and Jeanne cared for 450 foster kids, and had 7 children of their own: Angela, Carl (Angela), Michael (Kristen), Shawn, Andrew (Brittany), Natalie, and Caroline (Chris) Borer. They also recently welcomed into the world Marlin Daniel David Borer, as their ninth grandchild joining: Emily, Sarah, Henry, James, Liam, Valentina, Tiberius, and Luciano.
In February 1973, David was ordained to the ministry at his home church in Louisville, Kentucky. He served for 50 years at churches in Virginia (St. Matthias Lutheran), Ohio (Glenwood Lutheran in Toledo & First Lutheran in Springfield), and Florida (St. Matthews Lutheran & Ft. Caroline Presbyterian in Jacksonville, Grace Lutheran in Miami Springs, and Lord of Life Lutheran in St. Simons Island, Georgia). He was Campus Minister for 5 Universities in Richmond, Virginia. He has officiated over 1700 funerals, 2000 baptisms, and 1000 weddings. He brought life, joy, and leadership to all organizations he served as President including Kiwanis, Rotary, The Exchange Club, The Academy of Parish Clergy, Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida, and the Arlington Ministerial Association.
He loved boating, convertibles, playing tennis, bridge, singing duets with his daughter Natalie, listening to Neil Diamond, visiting his grand kids, outings with the Budds, trips to Lakeside, and watching his Kentucky Wildcats! His many nicknames include PI, Padre, Pops, and Daddy-O, and he was a heck of a storyteller!
Throughout his life, he touched so many people with his wisdom and kindness and his gift to bring people closer to God. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and were blessed by his ministry.
Pastor was called to heaven at the age of 76 on Saturday morning May 13th.
His funeral will be at Ft. Caroline Presbyterian Church Saturday May 20th at noon, with reception to follow. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior. The burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery in his hometown Louisville, Kentucky at a later date.
