David Anthony Kamm, 81, was born on May 22, 1936 in Chicago, IL and passed away on December 4, 2017 in St. Augustine, FL. His list of accomplishments include: St. Rita of Cascia High School, Chicago, IL, Hall of Fame Inductee, Class of 1954, University of Illinois, Electrical Engineering, B.S., Class of 1958, a member of his beloved Marching Illini from 1954-1958, Michigan State University, M.B.A, Class of 1962, Eagle Scout, Class of 1952 and Boy Scouts of America. He was one of the top engineers for Hughes Aerospace that successfully developed and deployed Syncom I, NASA’s 1st Synchronous Orbit Communication Satellite. In 1977 he moved to Ft. Myers, FL where he spent 43 years as a Stock Broker for Raymond James and Associates. He is the creator of the Florida Stock Index and for 37 years he was a weekly contributing economic writer for the Ft. Myers News Press. At times, he could also be found in the Miami Herald, St. Pete Times, Tampa Tribune, West Palm Beach Post, Lakeland Ledger and other newspapers across Florida. A lifelong Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Cubs fan, he was overjoyed to see them win their first Stanley Cup after 49 years in 2010 and World Series in 2016. A very generous and loving man, he is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joan Kamm; his three sons, Bob, Eric and Rex; three beautiful daughters-in-law, Cindy, Brandi and Rebecca and 9 grandchildren, Lindsay, Emily, Bailey, Austin, Ryan, Julie, Brea, Brylee and Britton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, December 7, 2017 with family receiving guests one hour prior in San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church 1718 FL-13 Saint Johns, FL 32259.
