Tom was born on November 6, 1957, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Bill and Juanita Sistare. He grew up with a strong work ethic and a friendly spirit that would stay with him throughout his life.
On November 12, 1989, Tom married the love of his life, Marian “Cookie” Sistare. Their marriage was filled with laughter, companionship, and unwavering support.
Tom spent his career as a dedicated semi-truck driver, a profession he truly enjoyed. The open road suited him well, and he took pride in his work. He was known for his gift of conversation—Tom never met a stranger—and for his warm, easygoing nature. He also had a fondness for Crown Royal and a well-known sweet tooth that brought smiles to those who knew him.
Tom’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Cookie Sistare; his sons, Eric (Loren) Sistare and Chad Turner; and his cherished granddaughters, Sutton and Ella Sistare. He is also survived by his mother, Juanita Sistare; his brother, Mike Sistare; and his niece, Jordan (Brandon) Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Sistare.
Tom will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and the many friendships he formed along the way. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
