

Born Margaret “Dedie” Jones on February 27th, 1966, to M. Doris and Joseph P. Jones Jr. of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Dedie lived a life devoted to her family, faith, and community. She passed Sunday March 29, 2026 and is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Campbell; her sons, James and Dillon Campbell; and her twin daughters, Maddison and Morgan Campbell.
Dedie graduated from St. Mary’s Ryken High School in Leonardtown, Maryland, where she was a cheerleader. She went on to attend Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, graduating in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Banking and Finance. While there, she served as class president. She later earned a Master of Science in Marketing and Advertising from Johns Hopkins University.
Dedie and Bill were married for 36 years. They met while Bill was serving in the United States Navy, with assignments including VX-1 at NAS Patuxent River, VS-31 at NAS Cecil Field in Florida, and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Over the years, they made homes in Tampa, Jacksonville, and Palm Coast, Florida.
Dedie built a successful career in marketing and communications; with the majority of her career spent in the mortgage and banking industry. She was deeply involved in her Catholic faith and was an active volunteer in church, youth organizations, and the banking community. Above all, Dedie loved her family, friends and cherished her church and school communities.
Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, located at 800-3 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32256 on Friday April 10th, with a viewing at 10am followed by the funeral service at 11am. The funeral home handling the arrangements is Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
