Dennis Herman Killingsworth, 75, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away at home on June 30, 2026. Born on August 6, 1950, in Hartford, Alabama, to Herman Falcon Killingsworth and Ruby Nell Chavis, Dennis was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose love for family remained at the center of his life.
Dennis graduated from Leesburg High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1974 as an Aviation Ordnance Man. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career with ADT Security Systems before retiring. Never one to sit still, Dennis continued working at Home Depot, where his strong work ethic and friendly nature earned him Employee of the Month recognition on multiple occasions.
Dennis found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved the mountains, being near the water, riding his motorcycle, watching sports, and sharing time with family and friends. Whether gathering with loved ones or enjoying the outdoors, he was happiest when creating memories with those he cared about most.
He is survived by his sister, Connie Lynn Martin (David L. Martin, two nieces, and three nephews) of Oxford, Florida; his sons, Sean Dennis Killingsworth (Virginia Killingsworth) and Jason Lee Killingsworth (Julie Killingsworth), both of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Elijah James Snyder (Kelsie Snyder), Gabriel Davis Kember, and Diaje Betts, and his great-grandson, Cooper James Snyder. His family will cherish the love, guidance, humor, and countless memories he leaves behind.
A celebration of his life with military honors for his proud service to our country will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2961 University Blvd. N., Jacksonville, Florida 32211 on Saturday July 25, 2026 at 3:00 pm. Following the service, there will be a time of reflection and connection for family and friends in the church fellowship hall.
Dennis's loved ones take comfort in knowing that his legacy will live on through the family and friends whose lives he touched so deeply.
