

CARTER - Dewey Sheron Carter, 76, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2016, surrounded by family. Sheron was born January 16, 1940 in Waycross, GA. He grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Landon High School in 1958, where he made many lifelong friendships. Sheron was the Founder and President of Action Welding Supply for 31 years and an active member of his trade organization (GAWDA), serving as President and Board Member. He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church for 44 years.
Sheron is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lyn; sons, Scott (Maria), Kent (Amy), Steve (Karen) and Five grandchildren (Tori King, Madison, Samantha, Jacob, Rowan). He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Marie Carter and brother Richard. He is also survived by sisters, Lawanna Murray, Linda Collins (Bob), Sandra Tekin (Dale), Janice Carter and brothers, Charles and James Carter.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 3 at Corey-Kerlin, 940 Cesery Blvd. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 4 at Parkwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Cure PSP at psp.org or Parkwood Baptist Church.
