Susan Diane “Diane” Erickson, 78, Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Diane was a Pensacola native whose career in teaching led her to California where she fell in love with her husband, Dick. They married in 1968, eventually settling in Panama City, FL. where they started their family.
Since 1981, Diane called Jacksonville her home, as she and Dick started a business together.
Over the next 50 years, Diane poured her heart and soul into supporting her husband and their 4 children. Her dedication and love of family led all 4 of her children back to Jacksonville where they chose to raise their own families. She truly was the heart of the Erickson home.
Diane was devoted in her Catholic faith, a role model to many. Her voracious love of God was catching, as she drew people to her who wanted to know the Lord, as she did. She attended daily mass, and was involved in multiple prayer groups, and bible studies. Her resolute faith brought peace and strength to her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dick of over 53 years. She is also survived by her son, Rick (Shannon), and three daughters, Angie Wood (Aaron), Katherine Loper (Todd), and Elizabeth Erickson. She had ten grandchildren: Farrell Erickson, Wilson Erickson, Ashton Erickson, Carter Wood, Riley Wood, Avery Katherine Wood, Gabriel Loper, Bryson Loper, McKenna Loper, and Mia Espinoza. Diane also has a sister, Janet Stocker (Bob), who resides in Pensacola, Florida.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Thursday, May 20th 2021 from 5-7:30pm, with prayers beginning at 6:00pm in the Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated to honor her life at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church located on St Augustine Road with Fr. Sabastian George as Celebrant on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
