

Dolly Edmundson Hurley Grant, 84, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Monday, April 23, 2014. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 5 at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery at 4300 Beach Blvd 32207 at the Statuary of Memories Mausoleum .
A native of Jacksonville, Dolly was born on July 21, 1929, to Carrie Jordan Edmundson and Charles C. Edmundson, Sr. She attended schools in Jacksonville, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. Growing up she was an active member of Riverside Park United Methodist Church. She was employed with Southern Bell Telephone Company for 38 years in Jacksonville, Atlanta, GA, and Miami, FL. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers where she volunteered as Pinky the Clown. She loved volunteering her time helping others. She worked after Hurricane Andrew serving those displaced and later in life helped her fellow seniors, driving them to appointments and helping those in her neighborhood. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Haynes Grant, her son Timothy Hurley and her daughter Charlene Hurley. She is survived by her son David R. Hurley of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Dollene McKenzie of Columbus, GA, eight nieces, one nephew, eight grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
