She was born on August 5, 1938 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Hans and Ann Van Kehrberg. She studied Interior Design at Oakland University. After relocating to Florida, she became a Real Estate Broker. She loved helping people not only find that perfect house, but also enjoyed assisting them in decorating to make it a home.
Dottie was an active member of Switzerland Community Church where she enjoyed being a part of several Bible study groups. She had a beautiful smile and a warm colorful style that could light up a room. She had a passion for movies, good food, and always found the best in others, but mostly she loved spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her older brothers, Hans and Vern Van Kehrberg; and her eldest daughter, Debra Ann Cassel.
Dottie is survived by her son, Joseph Cassel (Rosalie) of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; daughter, Susan Cassel Diener (Edward) of Boca Raton, FL; son, Michael Cassel (Marianne); her grandchildren, Ashley Cassel Gugliotta, Whitnee Cassel Temple, Maegan Cassel Dickinson, Joshua Cassel, Brian Diener, Kevin Diener and great granddaughter, Nikole Rae Temple, all of whom brought her great joy. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Christie Van Kehrberg of Astoria, NY and Barbara Van Kehrberg of St. Clair, MI.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 27 at 11 a.m. in Switzerland Community Church, 2179 SR 13 Saint Johns, FL 32259.
Flowers will be accepted and Memorial gifts may be made in Dottie’s memory to Switzerland Community Church.
