Dolores A. McInerney, age 85 formally of Plainview New York, formally of Riverhead, New York, current resident of Ponte Vedra, Florida, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on May 22, 2019. Dolores was born in Manhattan, New York on October 16, 1933. She touched many lives with her gentle spirit and her generosity towards others especially children.
She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 66 years, John P. McInerney II. She was a devoted mother to the late John P. McInerney III (Donna), the late Thomas F. McInerney, and James J. McInerney (Deanna). She was a cherished grandmother to Daniel McInerney (Sarah), Michael McInerney (Diana), Emily McInerney, James McInerney II and Kayla McInerney. Cherished great-grandmother to Anna McInerney, Melanie McInerney, Charles McInerney and Sean McInerney. Dolores was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Egner and brother, Robert Egner and survived by two sisters, Cornelia Callahan and Theresa Tomanelli.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Starling Assistant Living Facility in Nocatee, Florida and Vitas Hospice Healthcare for their caring professionalism and comforting compassion. The family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Monday May 27, 2019 at Hardage-Giddens, THE OAKLAWN CHAPEL 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Celebration of Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218.
