DoLoris Faye Roney of Jacksonville, FL at 75 years of age, went to be her Lord Jesus on June 24, 2018. She was born February 17, 1943 in Newport, R.I., and was the daughter to Jewel B. and Lela “Virginia” (Clark) Wooley.
DoLoris graduated from Englewood High School 1961. She was a nurse for 29 years and always had a passion for “mothering” others. Many knew her as “Momma De”. She was very artistic and loved making new creations. She was a faithful member at Regency Church of God, loved singing in the choir, and served on mission trips. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is remembered as a loving, devoted mother & grandmother, and a caring friend. Her love for Jesus, her faith and strength was an inspiration to all who knew her.
DoLoris leaves behind sisters Kathy Oakley, Bonnee Reddish; beloved children Jim (Judy) Owens, Tammie Liles, Clayton (Amy) Owens, and Denny Ford; grandchildren Jeremy, Lawrence Jr, Amanda, Matthew, Benjamin, Logan, Bailey; greatgrandchildren Braedyn, Kyra, Breyanna. Preceded in death by Brother Jewel Wooley Jr; Daughter Carmin Roney; Grandson Jonathan Owens.
The family welcomes friends to join them at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin 11801 San Jose Blvd., on Thursday June 28, 2018 from 6-8p.m. to share loving memories. On Friday June 29, 2018 a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral service at 11 a.m. celebrating God’s grace in the life of DoLoris Roney at Restoration Church 1677 Southside Blvd. followed by a grave side ceremony at H&G Greenlawn Cemetery 4300 Beach Blvd. Reception to follow.
