Dominga was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on May 12, 1924 to the late, Julia Santana and Jesus Carrasquillo. Dominga moved to Jacksonville in 2002 from New York City in the Bronx, once she moved to Jacksonville she became a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and watching Spanish soap operas.
Dominga is predeceased by her loving husband, Artimeo Rivera; brother, Inez Carrasquillo; sister, Maria Carrasquillo; and her parents.
She is survived by her son, Ismael Rivera; daughter, Inez Rivera Carrasquillo; 8 grandchildren; and sisters, Rosa Carrasquillo and Fela Carrasquillo.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, May 25, 2018 with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 pm in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:45 pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018 in St. Joseph's Historic Catholic Church, 4214 Loretto Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32223 with Father Stephen Soares as Celebrant, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
