Donald Frank Kovar, 93, was born September 14, 1932, in Pulaski, Wisconsin, and passed away May 29, 2026. He will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
Throughout his life, Donald carried himself with steady purpose and a strong sense of responsibility. A hard-working man in the truest sense, he built his days around providing, showing up, and doing what needed to be done—qualities that earned the trust of others and reflected a devotion that never sought attention, only results.
Donald was a former supervisor of Frito Lay, a role that spoke to his reliability and the quiet leadership he brought to his work. Those who worked alongside him knew him as someone who could be counted on—consistent, diligent, and committed to doing things well.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Maxine Kovar, and his grandson, Stephen Matthew Kovar. He is survived by his children Stephanie Kelly (Craig), Stephen Kovar (Laurie), Denise Tait (Scott), Lori Watson (James) and Valerie Knight; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and his sister, Carol Severson. In the lives he helped shape and the family he cherished, Donald’s legacy remains present and lasting.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207, on June 10, 2026, at 11:00 am.
