Donald W. Toomey

Donald W. Toomey, 67, passed away on March 23, 2013, after a lengthy illness. Donald was born on May 12, 1945 in Artesia, CA. During his lifetime, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 24 years, including three tours of duty in Viet Nam. After retirement he was employed with Civil Service at NAS Jacksonville for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerald A. Toomey and Agnes Eileen (Haskell) Toomey. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 26 years, Janell Elaine Toomey; son, Todd Emerson; step-son, Larry Welch; step-daughter, Tonya Pate; granddaughter, Lindsey Pate; sister, Jerry (Bob) Bragole; along with numerous other family and friends. Special recognition is extended to his special friend, Terri Green, as well as his caregivers.

A Celebration of Donald’s Life will be held from 6-9pm on Wednesday, March 27th at Donald and Elaine’s home. A Private Interment will be held in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
