

Doris E. (Culpepper) Baker, 87, of Jacksonville FL, passed away September 21, 2017 surrounded by friends and family. She was born in Portsmouth, VA to Eva Mae (Spady) and Malcolm Theodore Culpepper. She was married on February 2, 1949 to Freeman C. “Buddy” Baker Jr. They spent 30 years traveling with the Navy, settling in Jacksonville in 1976. She loved traveling with her husband in their camper. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and being with her family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Malcolm, Howard, James Edward and Roy, and her sister, Lorraine Piland. She is survived by her three daughters, Eva M. Landa (Jim), Cherrie L. Barrow (Buddy), and Joy A. Pacella (Tony). She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren, Tresa L. Landa (Laura), Alexander F. Barrow, Christopher J. Barrow, and Anthony F. Pacella IV, great grandson Korban D.D. Landa, niece Maureen Omeara and her son, Austin Gunter, and niece Debbie L. Ambrose.
She will forever be in our hearts, rest in peace, our dear sweet Mom. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Chapel, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32207. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville FL 32207.
