Doris LaNell Manning

Florida. She was the widow of Arthur Arnold Manning. They shared 57 years together.

Born in Oakvale, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Wiley Darvin Jones and Ettie Mae Rawls-Jones.

She attended Coral Gables Sr. High, but actually received her GED at the age of 75 years old. She was a homemaker and partner to a rancher-farmer.

Mrs. Manning was a follower of Jesus from the time she was a young girl and lived her life following Him in word and deed. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church, Downtown, Jacksonville, Florida where she was a member of Janet McKinney’s Sunday School class. She enjoyed reading her Bible, laying board games with her great grandchildren, playing games on her phone and tablet, quilting, crocheting, knitting, puzzles, gardening, traveling, and crafting. Although born in Mississippi, Doris lived many years of her life in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Palatka, Florida where she enjoyed serving approximately twenty years on various mission committees. She will be remembered for her kind, loving and generous heart.

Doris is survived by her children; Donna LaNell Manning-Hostetter and Timothy Arthur Manning (Lynn); five grandchildren; Harry Burnell (Trayc) Hostetter III (Yvette), Jason Arthur Hostetter (Donna), Christina LaNell Hostetter-Martin (Christopher), Brian Arthur Manning (Kate), Christopher Manning (Itoka); seventeen great grandchildren; Tanner Hostetter, Tayla Hostetter, Tucker Hostetter, Tayden Hostetter, Tia Hostetter, Teagan Hostetter, Torrey Hostetter, Avery Hostetter, Taylor Hostetter, Abbie Hostetter, Payton Hostetter, Hawk Hostetter, Falcon Hostetter, Willow Martin, Addie Manning, Chase Manning, and Mackenzie Manning.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Arnold Manning, son, Richard Arnold Manning, and great grandson, Tristan Hostetter.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 5th from 10:00-11:00 am with the service to begin at 11:00 am at the Hardage-Giddens Funeral home on San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin. Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Palatka, Florida.
