Doris married the love of her life John Foster Marden in Atlanta, Georgia on October 30, 1944.
After marriage John & Doris resided in Savannah Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina for a few years. They relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 1957 where they made their home. Doris joined Southside Baptist Church in 1957 and remained a active member until her passing.
Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. There was nothing she would not do for her family. She will always be remembered for her love of cooking and collecting cook books. During the holidays she always planned to have the family gather and would have a wonderful meal prepared. Family meant so much to Doris. Her second passion was reading. She enjoyed working at Barnes & Noble Bookstore for ten years and after retiring she enjoyed visiting the store on a regular basis.
