

Mrs. Anne Wacker, born on December 20, 1930, went home to be with the Lord, and “Mamaw and Papaw” on Saturday, December 14, 2013, after a short bout of pneumonia and was in Community Hospice care. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, and had lived in Jacksonville since 1963. She met and married the love of her life, George "Moose" Wacker, on December 17, 1966. She earned an Associate's Degree in accounting and was mainly an accountant but, over the years, also a real estate broker, a secretary for an engineering firm, and was a tax preparer until she retired. She was an accomplished stand-up bass player having played in bluegrass bands for many years with Moose, family and friends. She was beloved in the bluegrass community where everyone called her "Mrs. Moose". She and Moose were also foster parents to 30+ children over several years having adopted five of them. Several of her foster children have kept in touch with her for many years. She was an active member of Kernan Boulevard Baptist Church for many years. Anne is survived by her husband, Moose, and her children; Karen (Bruce) White, Delbert Bailey, Brian Wacker, Nancy Wacker-Jourdan, Barbara(Chadd) McCoy, Dottie Wacker, and Kim Hendricks. She also has two grandchildren: Kelly (Davy) Segars and Katie (Ross) Clifford and four great-grandchildren: Ralston and Charlie Segars, and Taylor and Levi Clifford.
Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207 (904) 346-3808. Family will receive friends Wednesday, 18, 2013 from 6-8pm at Hendricks. A funeral service will be held graveside at Greenlawn Cemetery 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida Thursday, 19, 2013 at 1:00pm officiated by Reverend William Crook. . Memorial contributions are preferred to Community Hospice of Jacksonville FL.
