Dorothea Gerber Weaver

Dorothea Weaver, 91, of Jacksonville FL died September 20, 2012. She was born in Bamberg, Germany on January 29th 1921. She was married to Julius ‘Buck’ Weaver, who preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter, Beatrice Weaver (Jacksonville) and sister-in-law, Catherine Simms (GA), numerous nieces, nephews and many precious dear friends.

She was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and an honorary member of Riverside Primitive Baptist Church. She was involved and held positions in the St. Paul’s Women’s Guild, St. Cecelia Circle, Garden Club of Jacksonville and the Confederate Point Garden Circle.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Avenue. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., services will begin at Noon, interment service at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or Community Hospice of Jacksonville.
