Dorothy Elaine (Ford) Almashy, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her on home on Sunday, April 20, 2015. She was 90 years young. Dot was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Milton Szatkowski and John C. Almashy; her mother, Gladys Ford Williams; her sister, Norma Seaman; and her brother, Eugene Lee Ford. She is survived by her daughters, Jean S. LaMee and JoAnn Whittier; son-in-law, Tony Gough; granddaughter, Lisa LaMee; grandsons, Cary, Michael, Derrick and Ryan Whittier; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Cody and Grayson Salsburg, Katharine, John and Charlotte Whittier; sister-in-law, Sallie Ford Fiore; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Dot enjoyed and loved her family, her home and spending time in the yard.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 27 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hardage- Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida. A service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 28 at 1pm at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4171 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida, with burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
