Dorothy M. Gambill, 95, of Jacksonville, FL., took her final journey to be with the Lord on January 29, 2015. She had a strong faith and always believed that God was with her and helped her through difficult times. A Steubenville, Ohio, native, she and her husband, Arnie, retired to Lady Lake, FL. in 1986 and moved to Jacksonville in 2002 to be close to family. She and Arnie enjoyed square dancing, boating, trips with their camper and yearly trips to Las Vegas. She loved doing crafts and enjoyed making baby hats and blankets for the Health Department and for needy mothers at Christ’s Church in Mandarin. She got her first computer in her 80’s and quickly found out how to start a family website which enabled everyone to share family news and pictures. She was able to keep in contact with friends and family all over the country via e-mail well into her 90’s. She had the nickname of “Cyber Granny”. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Arnold Gambill, her parents, Jay and Nellie Davis, and a brother, Bob Davis. She is survived by a son, Terry A. Gambill (Clara) of Las Vegas, NV., a daughter, Cynthia G. Price (Ron) of Saint Johns, FL., a brother, Jack L. Davis (Eveline) of Porter Ranch, CA., a sister, Carol S. Maresca (Don) of Ormond Beach, FL, 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She will be buried with her husband in a private graveside service at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. The family would like to thank all the nurses, CNA’s and staff who gave her such wonderful care and attention at The Terrace of Jacksonville in her last years. Also, heartfelt thanks to those involved with Haven Hospice who were such a help and comfort to Miss Dorothy and her family.
