Dorothy Dowling Hartley

Dorothy Dowling Hartley “Dottie”, 80, of Jacksonville passed away July 23, 2014. She was a native of Jacksonville, born to John and Hester Dowling on June 5, 1934. She attended Landon High School and later on became a Medical Assistant then a Dental Assistant. She was a mother first and foremost, and she loved not only her own children but all children. She was also an avid animal lover. Dottie is survived by two sisters, Pat (Chuck) Hudson and Betty Luman; one brother, Bobby (Sandy) Dowling; children, Crystie Wilson, Ginnie (Wayne) Phelps, Johnny (Gena) Dell, Tony Walker, Lisa Walker, Dee Dee Goebel; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dottie’s name to the Jacksonville Humane Society. A memorial service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, July 26 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin.
