She was the youngest daughter of Richard and Beulah Harris.
She attended business school and worked for the War Department during World War II in a clerical position. In September 1952 she married William J. Mims of Raleigh, NC and left government service to become a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Mims, her daughter Dorothy Lynn Dimock and her son William Jeffrey Mims.
The family will hold a graveside service at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 1 p.m.
