

Dorothy Foley Worsowicz Romer, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away September 28, 2010. She was born June 15, 1927 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her two loving husbands, Dominic Worsowicz and William James Romer. She is survived by her five sons, Dominic (Allegra) of Eugene, Oregon, Timothy (Nan) of Jacksonville, Christopher (Phyllis) of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Gregory (Sue) of Columbia, Missouri, and John (Kate) of Jacksonville; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Romer received a nursing degree from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. in the early 1950’s. She and her husband, Dominic Worsowicz moved to Jacksonville in 1955 where they raised their family of boys. Mrs. Romer was a school nurse in Duval County for a number of years in the 1980’s. The Worsowicz family were original members of the Sacred Heart Parish. Mrs. Romer was known for her kind heart and ability to make friends wherever she was. She cherished time with her friends and family and will be missed by all. The family visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Vigil at 7:00pm, Friday, October 1, 2010. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, 10:00am, October 2, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32244, with Father Victor Narivelil officiating. Burial will follow at Jacksonville Memory Gardens of Orange Park, Florida.
