Douglass Dunsmoor Getchell, 91, husband of Ethel (Bicknase) passed away peacefully on August 27, 2011 after a long illness. He leaves behind three daughters, two sons-in-law, one stepson, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Doug retired from the Navy as Commander, then took on the task of Building Commissioner in Illinois. Services will be held at the First Methodist Church in Libertyville, Illinois on September 17, 2011. Burial will be in Libertyville, Illinois at Ascension Cemetery beside his first wife, Vivian.
