A learned philosopher, connoisseur of chardonnay, caretaker of kittens and puppy dogs, and a man of uninhibited silliness left us on Saturday, April 20, 2024 and had us scratching our heads asking the question once posed by George Carlin, “Where did he go? Geeze. He was just here a minute ago.”
He was born in Cannonsburg, PA to Mary and Earl Raymond Biringer Sr.. He graduated from Fort Cherry High School and shortly after joined the US Army. He was a graduate of US Army Airborne School and was stationed at Stuttgart, Germany for four years. He later went on to study at California University of Pennsylvania where he completed a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. It was here he spent several hours in the quad smoking, snacking, and philosophizing with friends and quoting everything from Plato to the Animaniacs.
Earl met the love of his life, Theresa, in the early 2000s and had been enjoying their daily adventures with their critters. They spent time traveling, relaxing together at home, watching Rugby, and enjoying their life together. He loved engaging her in debates while badgering her with silly questions, and showing off in the local box stores with over-the-top silly antics for nearly two decades. Earl believed that life, though difficult at times, should be fun. But most importantly with love.
Earl had a soft spot for all animals, but adored puppy dogs and kitten cats. He treated each and every one like the valuable family member they were. He never passed a dog that he didn’t personally meet. Friends of Earl enjoyed long days and nights of conversations ranging from statistical math to philosophical musings of Calvin and Hobbes. He was always good for sporadic drives across multiple states for no other reason than to be on the road, with the wind in his hair, Steve Earle on the radio, and the world as it appeared through the windshield. He was a free spirit and loved adventure with those he loved most.
Earl was an established professional in the mortgage industry for the last 25 years. He held many leadership roles and loved managing his teams. His love of the industry was in Government underwriting. He enjoyed the challenge and helping people make their dreams come true of owning a home.
Earl was a self-proclaimed believer of Bokononism which is a beautiful way to view the world.
Everyone who knew Earl knew how much he loved to read, write, and follow sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. His library was as unique and fun as he was.
To those of us who loved Earl he will always be remembered for his quick wit, intelligence, and soft heart (though he would laugh if he read that). He had an infectious laugh especially when cracking himself up. We couldn’t have asked for a better friend, spouse, sibling, or co-worker, and we will miss him dearly. Even if you only knew him for a little while, you walked away with something: usually a genuine compliment or a smile. Earl was genuinely a good dude.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary, and sister, Tricia Ann Atkinson. He is survived by his darling wife, Theresa, his brother, Luke, and sister, Michele.
A private viewing was held with those he loved most. He didn’t want or enjoy the excess or unnecessary (his words). He would have you all do something positive for someone, or yourself. Raise a glass and be thankful that we had the honor of knowing him and him loving us.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations if desired to K-9s for Warriors at https://donate.k9sforwarriors.org or to Safe Animal Shelter at https//safeanimalshelter.com
Until we all meet again, we will miss him. Always.
