

Earl F. Conte, Sr. - Ambassador for Christ Earl Franklin Conte, Sr., 82, was born on November 25, 1933, in Newark, NJ, to Samuel and Edna Conte, who both preceded him in death. Earl departed his earthly life, and entered into eternal life, on the morning of Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Community Hospice-Mandarin, in Jacksonville, Florida. Earl, affectionately known as Deacon Conte, loved the Lord. It was his passion to spread the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He took his work for the Lord very seriously. Everyone who came in contact with Earl either heard, or was taught a lesson on Jesus’ love. Deacon Conte witnessed to countless numbers of people. He was also a dedicated member of each church of which he was a member. Earl was also an avid sports fan. In his younger years, he was a member of multiple softball leagues. During his time playing softball, he earned many trophies for his outstanding sportsmanship and performance. Another sport Earl had a passion for was bowling. He was a member of various bowling leagues, and as with softball, won many trophies for his outstanding performance. During his retirement, Earl developed a passion for tennis. Tennis became one of his favorite activities, and you could find him on the tennis court several days each week. While not a competitive player, he enjoyed winning many matches. Earl was a very hard-worker. He worked in several different industries, including the textile industry and the court system. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren, and was a great example of what it meant to be a good provider. Earl was a true family man, committed, and very proud of his family. Whether it was God, family, or sports, the themes that carried on throughout Earl’s life were dedication, passion, and commitment. He was a man of his word, always reliable, and present, when needed. Left to cherish his life are his loving wife of 63 years, Marie C. Conte of Jacksonville, FL; his four children: Cheryl Boatwright of Abbeville, AL; Michele Williams of Springfield, NJ; Earlette Conte of Durham, NC; and Earl Conte, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL: ten grandchildren; Cherise Conte-Bush, Clifford Conte, LaToi Hogan, Samuel Williams, Jr., Sunni Henry, Kelli Henry, Angel Green, Ashley Fullwood, Joshua Conte, and Enesha Nash; 14 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Melvin Boatwright; one daughter-in-law, Edith Conte, and a host of family and friends.
