With loving memories of a life well lived, we share the passing of Earl Jackson Goodin, who went home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 2, 2026.
Earl was born on February 12, 1946, in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Andrew Jackson High School and later proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Following his military service, Earl built a successful career at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, where he worked for over 30 years as a planner and estimator on P-3 aircraft.
At the heart of Earl's life was his wife, Faye. Earl and Faye shared 50 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories together. They loved traveling, laughing, and dancing, always enjoying life most when they were by each other's side. After Faye passed away in January 2025, Earl carried her memory with him every day. His family now finds peace knowing that after a lifetime together and a brief time apart, Earl and Faye are dancing once again in Heaven.
Earl loved painting, playing golf, traveling with Faye, spending time with his family, and listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Earl is survived by his daughters, Jan Belde (Dan) and Pam DiNunzio (Bob); his grandchildren, Becca and Bobby DiNunzio; his dog, Blossom; and other family members and friends who will carry his memory with them. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Faye Herrington Goodin; his parents, Paul Goodin and Agnus Downs; his brother, Jerome Goodin; and his sister, Gayle Ramsey.
Earl will be laid to rest at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 12:30 p.m., where his family will gather for a small service to honor his life and his service to our country.
A Celebration of Life for Earl will follow from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Lynyrd Skynyrd Room at Whitey’s Fish Camp, 2032 County Road 220, Fleming Island, Florida. Family and friends are welcome to stop by anytime between 2:30 and 4:00 p.m. to visit with the family, share memories, and celebrate Earl’s life.
