Edna Marie Carroll

Edna Marie Carroll, 75, Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. Edna was born on August 16, 1936 in Jacksonville. She attended Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville. Edna retired from Georgia Power in 1992 after 28 years of service. A beautiful wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was an exceptionally kind and strong woman. Prior to her death, she fought and beat breast cancer since 1995. She loved cooking (and was an excellent cook), keeping her home spotless, and caring for her family. She loved her family and was a great inspiration and role model, maintaining grace and poise in even her most troubling times.Edna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Carroll; daughter, Marlene Reece; grandchildren, Michael Roberts and Jennifer Roberts; great-grandchildren Alexis and Hailey; sisters, Frances August and Leda Ingle; sister-in-law, Jeanette (Doug) Stewart, and many other loving family and friends.All are invited to a memorial service in celebration of Edna's life at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Jacksonville, FL. 32211.
