Elinor Denning Jones, widow of Dr. Nathaniel Jones, passed away February 1, 2017. She was a resident of Jacksonville since 1952. Elinor was born in New York City, and was a graduate of Holy Angels Academy, Demarest, New Jersey and the Katharine Gibbs School of New York. She was past President of St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary; former Vice President of the Women’s Guild of the Jacksonville Symphony; and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, San Jose Country Club and Ponte Vedra Inn and Club.
She is survived by her cousins, the Combes family of Sydney, Australia and her special friends, Judi and Robert Anderson and their children of Jacksonville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 4th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9800 Baymeadows Rd. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. Interment will take place at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd.
