Our loving God has called home Elizabeth R. (DeeDee) Case on July 9, 2022 – her 67th birthday. DeeDee endured a 5-year long battle with brain lymphoma while maintaining a positive life outlook and never once complained. Her faith in God was unwavering throughout her illness and had said many times, “If God decides to take me today, I got my bags packed, I’m ready to go.” Hallelujah Amen!
DeeDee was treated with great care and compassion by the wonderful staff at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Florida. The family is deeply grateful for the additional time afforded them with this beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, SOUL! Their clinical expertise, care, and attention to detail was truly amazing! We Thank You!
After her love of God, her family was her highest priority. She seemingly effortlessly juggled marriage, kids, work, church, meals, vacations, holidays, travels, dogs, cats, neighbors, etc. all the while maintaining that beautiful smile and sweet disposition. Her greatest joy was just being with her family – especially while snow skiing, hiking, or walking on the beach. DeeDee also greatly enjoyed our small church group which sort of became a support group as “life happened.”
Education was always a priority for R.N. DeeDee. She graduated from the University of Florida school of Nursing with a B.S.N. as well as Morris Harvey College in Charleston, WV. While attending South Charleston High School she was always on the honor roll and participated in majorettes, and numerous clubs and organizations.
In her professional life, DeeDee founded and managed Case Research, Inc. in which she ran clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies while coordinating closely with doctors and patients. Her company was very successful for nearly 20-years before her illness forced her to close the business. She became a registered nurse in 1977 and worked in various capacities including NICU, PEDS, and clinical research prior to opening her company.
DeeDee is predeceased by her parents, Tom and Rose Green and her beautiful daughter, Catherine Case. She is survived by husband Terry, son Terry Jr. (Talya Case), son, Michael (Leah Case), and daughter, Lauren Levin (Simon Levin), sister, Debi Kotera (Kelly Kotera), sister, Kathey Dolin (Roy Dolin), and brother, Thomas C. Green, III (Sandy Green) and numerous grandchildren and cousins.
The family greatly appreciates all the love and support from family, friends, church, facebook friends, and well-wishers - you guys rule!
