Elizabeth Pagonis Whitfield, age 87, passed away August 31, 2012. She was a life long resident of Jacksonville, FL. She was the daughter of the late Jack A and Ella S. Pagonis. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Earl J. Whitfield, Jr; four children; William M, Sloan, Jr. (Kathy) of Bennettsvills, SC. Jacklin S. Brough (John) of Nephi, Utah; Frederick L. Sloan of Nephi, Utah, and Brett P. Sloan Sandy) of Port Orange, FL; her sister, Marion Houston; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her sister, Virginia P. Ramsay, predeceased her. A beautiful life that came to an end, she died as she lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts, a memory will always be kept, of one we loved, and will never forget.
The family visitation to greet friends will be held 1-3PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home Saturday September 8th with a service at 3PM in the Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of N.E. Florida.
There will be a private interment at Greenlawn Cemetery.
