I just learned of Ellen's passing. She was a great public servant, many people in this city and around the state had better housing because of her efforts. She gave freely of her knowledge. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Ellen was a fantastic lady who helped mentor me at JHA in my first 'real' job. Her faith, kind nature, and willingness to listen were a beacon to everyone who new her. Heaven just got an angel back, prayers to her family.

Sending prayers of peace and comfort to Ellen's family.  I always enjoyed my Jaycee visits to Jacksonville with Ellen's unique hospitality and her ability to make you feel welcomed.  I think of those times often.

While I have only known Ellen a few years from our Local Yarn Shop, she always impressed me with her happy, funny, and loving demeanor. She loved life, family and God. Sending my deepest condolences and prayers to her family and friends. 
We all will certainly miss Ellen at the knitting table and know that she is in a better place. R.I.P.

I worked with Ellen thru the City of Jacksonville on our grant projects.  I am so sorry to hear of Ellen's passing.  She was such a sweet, caring person and a joy to work with. I will miss her dearly.  My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of Ellen's passing, she has been a client of mine for 20 years.  I always looked forward to her appointments  each time, her stories of her trips overseas, and always wondering what she was going to make next with her  crocheting. The  salon and I will miss her dearly.

I am so very sorry to hear of Ellen's passing.  We worked closely together for many years and I considered her a friend.  We hadn't spoken recently, but I was thinking about her a few days ago - we took a trip to England together and I was thinking about how much fun it was.  She and I share a passion for our animals and we spent many lunch and dinner conversations telling each other about our furry children.  My thoughts go out to her family and close friends and co-workers.

It saddens my heart very deeply to lose such a good co-worker, that I have know for twenty five years. I will truly miss you Ellen, this have been a rough week for all of us at the Housing Authority. I love the poem that say's 
"I have just a tiny little minute, with sixty seconds in it, did't seek it, did't chose it, but it's mine to use it. must suffer if I abuse it it, give an account if I lose it, just a tiny little minute with sixty seconds in it, but eternity is in it. thank you Ellen for being my friend I will truly miss you, but I'll see you on the other side where death will never come...God bless you RIP

Ellen was one of the good ones.  She tried to put out a tough exterior but she was one of the kindest, most caring people I've known.  She loved her family and pets.  Anyone who is such an animal lover as herself is okay in my book.  RIP.

I have worked with Ellen for over 10 years in connection with the Jacksonville Housing Authority and can say that I was blessed to know her not only through our professional connection, but personally.  She will be missed so much, however I know she is in a much better place and look forward to seeing her again someday. Ellen was that rare kind of friend, a friend that would tell you what you needed to hear as well as what you hoped to hear.  She had great courage of conviction as well as a big heart. She is irreplaceable and we are all better people for having had the privilege of calling her friend. She was much loved and will be truly missed.

To Ellen's Family,

I worked with Ellen previously when she was employed with the U.S. Dept. of HUD.  She went on to bigger and better things w/the Jacksonville Housing Authority.  I did have the privilege of speaking to her on a HUD-related matter and she was very glad to have talked to me.  I will keep her family in my prayers.  I remember when she scooped my newborn baby up in her arms and adored her.  I will miss her dearly.

Ellen was a loving and caring woman of faith and will be missed by many. I will remember her and miss her daily for many years to come.  I am praying for her mother and family and wish them God's grace and blessings at this sad time in their lives.

Ellen was a dear friend to me for over 35 years, we went through the loss of a parent together during that time as well the loss of others, now I mourn for her but also the joy of knowing she is with the Lord, I love you dear friend. My prayers to all the family and friends who will miss her.

Our family has known Ellen since the mid-nineties at Geneva Presbyterian Church.  She's always mentored and helped with the youth groups and served selflessly in other capacities.  We are shocked that she has been taken away from us so young.  Our thoughts are with JoAnn and the rest of the Ramsey family. we will miss her.

We extend our sympathy to your family. During my short time at Geneva Pres I have been impressed with Ellen's service through music, children's worship and technology.... She was a true servant  of The Lord for all of us to follow.

Ellen was one of my first mentors when I arrived at the Jacksonville HUD office in 1991, she taught be to fight for persons seeking affordable housing, something that I have always carried with me.  I was sorry to see her leave HUD, and really missed going to lunch with her at least weekly.  However, I saw many benefits in having her at the Jacksonville Housing Authority carrying on her passion for residents and affordable housing opportunities for all.  My prayers are with her family at this difficult time.

Ellen has been a dear friend of mine for many years. She was so very much a part of our circle of friends and will be greatly missed.

Ellen was a neighbor of ours for 15 years, and she was always so kind and generous.  Our children enjoyed spending time with her and her dogs so much.  Thoughts are prayers to her family and friends, she will be missed.

Ellen was a great woman and good friend who is gone too soon. I know she is missed by many. She will absolutely be in my family's prayers.

Ellen was my supervisor at JHA for 12 years. She was my mentor and friend. I remember her many stories about her family gatherings, her niece Nicole, her dogs, and her travels. I remember Ellen not only as a leader and a decision maker but as a confidant to many. Her door was always open to talk or to lend a shoulder to cry on. Ellen was my rock and it was comforting to know that she was always there. I am surprised and saddened that God took her to heaven so soon, but I know that she is another angel now that will comfort us and protect us. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and  her many friends. Please know that she was a positive influence on many people including mine. She will be missed.
