Ercel Dell Goossen

Daddy Ed passed away peacefully on August 19, 2022. He lived a long and happy 95 years. He was preceded in death by wife Donna Goossen, son Stephan Goossen, grandchild Marisa Canaday, and son-in-law Joey Hendley. He enjoyed spending time at gatherings with family, attending meetings with the Quiet Birdmen (aviator club) and volunteering at Hospice. He is survived by his children: Anna Hendley, Preston Goossen, Gardys Hearnburg (Mike), Sandra Shoup (Jim); eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and sister and brother in-laws Lorna and Bob Pryor.

Daddy Ed always said he was so lucky to have joined the Navy at seventeen and couldn't believe they paid him to do what he loved: flying airplanes!

Family and Friends are invited to attend a small gathering Saturday, August 27th 2022, at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223 at 1:00pm.

The Navy will be honoring Ed with taps before the service begins, on the portico to the side of the building.
