

Eunice B. Donovan, 92, passed peacefully on Sunday July 30, 2023, in Jacksonville, FL. Eunice was born in Rochester, NY on May 13, 1931 to Joseph Bradley and Edith Doyle. They affectionately nicknamed her “Boots”. She graduated from Nazareth College (Rochester) in 1953 with a degree in music. She married John Donovan on June 13, 1953. As a homemaker she raised their four boys. Eunice was very active in St. Helen’s Church. In 1970 she directed Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” performed by St. Helen’s students. Eunice was the choir director at St. Helen’s for 20 years and played the organ for most weddings and funerals. She loved gardening her fruit trees and flowers. Other hobbies included knitting, playing tennis and raising Cairn terrier puppies. In 1989, Eunice and John moved from Rochester to Gainesville, FL and enjoyed attending Florida Gator sporting events together.
Eunice is predeceased by her husband, John of 65 years. She is survived by her four sons, John (Terry), Brian (Eileen), James (Peg), and Kevin (Shar), thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her sister, Mary Farhat, of Danville,CA, and brother-in- law, William Donovan.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday August 19, 2023 at 11:00am at San Jose Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Eunice will be dearly missed by her family but has joined her husband in heaven.
