Evelyn Jean Horton, 81, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on July 19, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan. She was a resident of Maud, Texas and very active in community services as well as a member of First Baptist Church Maud. In 1985, she started the Maud Public Library. In 2003 she moved to Jacksonville and became a member of Park City Baptist Church. She is survived by daughters Cande Breaux, Dorothy Edwards and Brenda Becker and son Blake York; grandchildren Megan Breaux, Andrew Breaux, Justin Brinkley, and others. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 21st at 3pm at Park City Baptist Church.
