Born on September 3, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida, Faye was the youngest of four children born to Hazel and Robert Herrington. She grew up in Jacksonville and attended Robert E. Lee High School. Faye spent most of her adult life in Orange Park, where she created a warm and loving home with her family.
Faye enjoyed a long and successful career at CSX Corporation, where she worked as a rate analyst for over 40 years, retiring in 2009. She was a devoted University of Florida Gators football fan and a proud Jacksonville Jaguars season ticket holder. She also had a passion for traveling, often exploring new places with her husband of 50 years, Earl Goodin.
Her greatest joy was her family. Faye poured her heart into being a loving wife, a nurturing mother, and a doting grandmother. She cherished her role as "Mimi" and found immeasurable happiness in the smiles and laughter of her grandchildren. Her sweet dog, Blossom was her constant companion, bringing her endless comfort and joy.
Faye is survived by her devoted husband, Earl Goodin; her daughters, Jan Belde (Dan) and Pam DiNunzio (Bob); her treasured grandchildren, Becca and Bobby DiNunzio; and her sister, Jackie Holton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Robert Herrington; her brothers, Arthur Herrington and Duane Herrington; and loved ones who surely welcomed her home with open arms.
A celebration of Faye’s beautiful life will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in remembering the joy and light she brought to the world.
Though she is no longer with us, Faye’s legacy of love, faith, and passion for life will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in peace, sweet Faye. You will be missed more than words can express but will forever be cherished in our memories.
